A few 3D printing problems that needs to be fixed right now!

I completely love working with the 3D printers, it really makes me do some of the coolest things around like creating a working gun or an acoustic guitar for my twin's 20th birthday.

Now every coin has two sides and so does this 3d printing technology. I have been in this printing industry for a while and have end up created some of the amazing things but at the same time, printing can be a massive source of anger and frustration if not used the best Pla filament or done in the correct manner.

However here in this post, I would love to share some of the common 3D printing problems that needs to be fixed right now!

best Pla filament

Problem #1 – Warping

What is warping? Well, there are times when you realize that the print bends upwards at the base model, and remains unleveled. Hence you end up producing some horizontal cracks in upper parts. This is what we call warping.

Warping is a common printing problem that's mostly caused when the first layers of the heated plastic cool down too rapidly and soon began to contract, hence result in bending the edges upwards.

So what can be done to avoid warping? Well, first of all, you need to use the best PLA filament, then use a print bed in order to keep the plastic at a certain temperature. Besides, increase adhesion of the first layer to the print bed by spreading a tiny film of glue evenly on the bed.

Problem #2- Elephant foot

Do you find your printing model slightly bulging outwards? This is called Elephant foot. This problem arises by the weight of the rest of the model pressing down the first few layers especially when the lower layers haven't converted into solid.

What can be done? Getting rid of warping and avoiding elephant foot all together is not that easy, unless and until you make use of the best PLA filament or you can even think of minimizing this effect by leveling the printer bed and moving the nozzle little away from the bed, thus lower the temperature slightly.

Problem #3- Getting the first layer right

Your first layer is either not sticking properly or some parts come out lose, or is it about those certain unwanted lines found at the bottom? Getting the first layer right is the basic yet crucial thing to consider and not getting it right simply means either you haven't leveled properly or you aren't using the best PLA filament in town.

All you can do is use a printer software to re-level the print bed and apply some quality adhesive before printing.

I hope you found this post informative!
