Different types of 3D Printing Materials

3D Printing Material

The new advanced technology has so much to come up with and the standards have raised since the technology has. Nowadays powder, resin, filament, granules and etc. have become the not common 3D Printing Materials.

There are so many other applications of the materials used here. There are many different material properties used in different 3D Printers. But today there are so many different 3D filaments in the market.

Examples of some 3D Filaments

Plastics

Nylon is most commonly used the material in the form of the filament in the filament form. It is very flexible, strong and more durable plastic material that is extremely reliable for 3D Printing. It can be used in different colors but usually, it is white in color. This can be combined with aluminum powder that produces aluminum, which is another 3D Printing Material.

The other example or 3D filament used is ABS. It is also used in 3D Printing. It is a particularly strong plastic, which has different colors. It can be bought directly in 3d filament form. And that is why it is purchased more often.

PLA Filament is another most commonly used filament for 3D Printer and also in many printers it is used as default 3d filament. It is used as a filament in FDM form. And it can also be used as DLP/SL processes too. It comes in various different colors, which can be used in different applications of 3D Printing. It comes in transparent color too. It is not as strong as ABS filament and neither flexible.

The other kind of filament that is used in 3D Printer is plywood. This material is specifically designed for 3D Printing Materials that are used for different entry levels. It can be used as a wood or polymer too. Also, not only these materials but also metals are also used for 3D Printing.

Metals

The most common metals used in 3D Printers are cobalt and aluminum.

Stainless steel is referred as the strongest and commonly used 3D Printing Material. It can be used in sintering, melting and for EBM processes. It can be easily plated with gold or bronze effect. Also, as the technology has moved a bit further, gold and silver have also been added in the 3D Printing Materials. Mostly this kind of printing is used in jewelry sectors too. They are used in powdered form and are very strong.
